Letter from the Director

Students,

I am so excited to be welcoming you to your new home on Bison Hill in just a few weeks! I pray that these are some of the best days of your life! I can promise you that you will be encouraged and supported but also challenged in your time at OBU. You will grow inside and outside the classroom. One of the greatest honors that I have is to watch how students are transformed over the next four years of their lives and I know you will be changed as well.

Residential Life is here to support you in your academic pursuits but also to help you grow in your community and relationships. ResLife is so much more than where you live or even who you live with. It is about learning to lead yourself so you can lead others; to challenge yourself so you can challenge others; and supporting yourself so you can support others. Each of the Resident Assistants as well as their Resident Directors (I promise you will get to know all the acronyms and names soon!) do their jobs for the relationship and community they get to have with YOU! We do our jobs because we love the students we live with.

I graduated from OBU in 2013 and have been forever changed by my years as a student and by the honor of serving as the Director of the Residential Experience. I can’t wait to get to know you and see you soon as we embark on the 2023-2024 year together!
