Six Easy Steps to OBU Financial Aid

2024–25 FAFSA Information

Many of you may be aware that major changes from the Department of Education have affected the FAFSA and financial aid process for the 2024–25 academic year. You can now submit your FAFSA form at www.fafsa.gov and we will begin receiving those in March. We now anticipate having full financial aid offers out in the month of April, barring no additional delays.

Current students can rest assured that previously awarded OBU scholarships will be honored as long as you remain enrolled full-time, maintain a 2.0 or higher GPA, and have not exceeded eight semesters.

Prospective students can use our Net Price Calculator to receive a financial aid estimate until we are able to send out official offers.

  1. Apply

Apply for admission to OBU and submit the required documents.

  2. Receive

You will receive a letter from the Office of Student Financial Services soon after your acceptance letter. This letter will indicate your academic scholarship and any denominational awards for which you qualify according to our records.

  3. Submit

You must complete the FAFSA. If you do not submit FAFSA information to us, we aren't able to offer you the best financial aid package possible. Make sure you use OBU’s school code, 003164, so that we get your information.

  4. Respond

Respond quickly to any requests for additional documentation. Requested documents are also noted in Self-Service Banner under the Financial Aid > Eligibility tab.

  5. Review

Review and respond to your award letter. You will receive an email (and letter a few days later) when your awards are ready. Follow the instructions on the award notification.

  6. Follow Up

Follow up on your awards. Based on your Accept/Decline decisions of the financial aid awards, there may be additional steps to complete. The instructions will be on the same page as your awards in Self-Service Banner.
