Bison Bicycle Classic Celebrates 10th Anniversary
The Bison Bicycle Classic will celebrate its 10th Anniversary on September 25, 2010. The non-sanctioned race and tour which began as the Bison Bicycle Tour 10 years ago has grown from a small local ride to one which attracts an average of 200 participants each year.The Bison Bicycle Classic is sponsored by the OBU Division of Music, the Pott County Pedalers Racing Team, and the Greater Shawnee Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. All proceeds for the event go to Habitat for Humanity.
This year's event will include a 50 mile timed non-sanctioned race, a 50 mile tour, a 25 mile tour, and two categories of kids rides/parade. The race will be on a separate course from the tours and kids rides.
In addition to the kids ride, Extreme Inflatables will also have activities set up for children to enjoy.
Lunch will be provided for all participants upon their return to the OBU Wellness Center.

Bison Bike Race 2009
More than 160 pedalers participated in the Ninth Annual Bison Bicycle Classic on Saturday, Sept. 26, which benefitted the Shawnee chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The event was hosted by Oklahoma Baptist University's Division of Music.
Participants rode 50-mile, 25-mile or 10-mile courses, and 40 riders participated in the BBC 50-mile race. Jamie McCoy from Jenks won the Men's Division in a time of 2:02:09, followed closely by second-place finisher Raton Parmain from Tulsa, and Mason Mattocks from Edmond. In the Women's Division, Gina Kraft from Shawnee won in a time of 2:12:41, with Donna Rice of Oklahoma City in second place and Tamie Sanders of Edmond in third place. Read more >>
