Students will obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Sports and Recreation while studying Sports and Recreation programming in various settings including sports leagues, sports camps and church recreation. Students will focus on developing programs that are safe, effective and purposeful. The purpose of the degree is to explore how physical activity, exercise and sports can enhance leadership skills, teamwork and fellowship.

Our future sports and recreation professionals exemplify Christian principles, approaches and practices. We integrate faith throughout the learning process. Lectures are supported with hands-on training. Practicum and internship experiences further develop knowledge, skills and abilities.
What are OBU graduates doing with their Sports and Recreation, Camp Administration Emphasis degrees?
The majority of students pursue sports management careers in private, commercial and municipal sport and recreation settings (e.g., YMCA, city parks and recreation, church recreation). Some pursue careers in camp administration, specific to sport/summer camps. Others obtain a specialty in Sport Ministry and pursue careers in churches, religious organizations and missions. Graduate education is an option.
