God is always surpassing our expectations, not just meeting them, said Dr. Randall Adams during Oklahoma Baptist University's Sept. 18 chapel services. Adams, pastor of First Baptist Church of McAlester, spoke to OBU students about God's power, faithfulness and diligent work even when Christians are too unaware to see it.\
"God is always doing more than we know, never less," Adams said.
"God is always doing more than it seems, and more than we think, not less," said Dr. Randall Adams during OBU's Wednesday chapel service. Adams, pastor of First Baptist Church of McAlester, spoke to OBU students about God's power and faithfulness.
Adams told stories of missionaries throughout the world, their adversities and how God continued to work in their regions and through them even when they did not realize it.
He encouraged students to think of their lives as a blank map. He said their future is still waiting to be drawn upon it. Adams challenged students to determine their cause and their purpose.
"Part of what you're doing now is determining how you will fill up the future of your life," he said. "Get to know God and get to know great people."
He said that new scientific discoveries every day make it seem like anything is possible in the world of science. Even more is possible in the spiritual realm, he said.
"We live in one of the most exciting times to be a follower of Christ," he said. "It is a good day to serve the Lord."
Adams used the story of Joshua and the battle of Jericho as an example of faith that God is doing more than is realized. He told how the children of Israel learned to trust God without question; to obey him by trusting him; and to know that God was always doing more than they realized.
"You're at one of the best schools in the country," Adams said. "God is preparing your mind and your heart. May it inspire you to live a courageous life."
