Clarkson to Speak in Chapel

Clarkson previously was pastor of First Baptist Church in Claremore. He also has served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Chickasha and Grandview Baptist Church in Muskogee.

He has served as an instructor of New Testament Greek and church history with OBU's Ministry Training Institute. He also has served three terms on OBU's board of trustees.

In 2000, Clarkson was elected to the Southern Baptist Convention's committee on nominations.

Clarkson received his bachelor of arts degree, summa cum laude, in religion from OBU in 1980. He received master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he was a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship.

He and his wife, Cherie, have seven children.

OBU's 10 a.m. chapel service is in Potter Auditorium.
