Biography

As an Assistant Professor of Accounting at OBU, Dr. Greenwell brings over four decades of public accounting experience to inspire and educate future accounting professionals. Since joining OBU in 2020, he has empowered undergraduate and graduate students with practical expertise in financial accounting and reporting, corporate and partnership taxation, forensic accounting, dispute resolution, and business ethics, all grounded in a Biblical worldview. His teaching is complemented by ongoing consulting in conflict resolution, serving as an expert witness, and conducting research in tax policy, fraud detection, and managerial accounting. Dr. Greenwell's mission is to equip the next generation of accounting leaders with the knowledge, skills, and Christian values needed to excel in a dynamic business landscape.

Before OBU, he served as a lead tax Partner at RSM US LLP, where he led the dispute resolution and forensic investigations practice. Dr. Greenwell provided comprehensive income tax and business consulting services to clients in industries such as energy, technology, consumer products, and real estate. Specializing in legal and tax controversy, he has delivered expert testimony in state and federal courts across the nation. Additionally, Dr. Greenwell was privileged to serve as an expert resource advisor for the White House Conference on Small Business.

His dedication to public service includes three terms as a member of the Oklahoma City Council and two terms on the Oklahoma Accountancy Board, where he served as chairman for two terms. Across his many roles in academia, consulting, and public service, he remains committed to fostering excellence, integrity, and innovation in accounting while preparing future leaders to navigate a complex world with a steadfast Christian perspective.
