Frequently Asked Questions for Your Visit

How long will an OBU campus tour last?

OBU campus tours usually last about an hour. Each additional appointment lasts between 30 minutes and an hour.

What does a campus tour include?

During your visit to Bison Hill, we will introduce you to many areas of campus that show you a glimpse of life at OBU. One of our caring admissions counselors will sit down with you to answer your questions. We want to make the most of your time with us and are happy to customize your experience. You can request a meeting with a professor (pending availability), lunch on campus (when the cafeteria is open) or a visit with a representative from financial aid.

Will I get to see residence halls during my campus tour?

Absolutely! Your living space is one of the most important pieces of the college decision. We will show you a residential facility as part of your tour.

Is it possible to visit with a professor?

Yes. We will reach out to a professor in an area (or areas) of your choice to set up an appointment for you to learn more about your preferred academic interest.

Can I meet with someone from the Honors Program on that day?

Our Honors Program faculty would love to speak with you about our triple-team taught, discussion-based approach to a Great Books curriculum.

Can I bring a group of students to tour the campus?

There are two options for group visits: you may bring your group to a scheduled Bison Day, or email  to schedule a separate time for your group to visit campus on any weekday.

Do you offer a stipend for visitors?

Just for visiting campus, you will earn a Bison Bound Scholarship to be used during your first year at OBU. This stipend is intended to assist you with your visit expenses.

How do I know if my campus visit is confirmed?

We will notify you by email of your confirmed visit. We will also send you any updates if necessary. Please check your email frequently and we will do our best to communicate with you.

Where should I park on the day of my visit?

As our special guest for the day, we have reserved a parking spot just for you in front of Thurmond Hall, located at the northeast corner of Oval Drive. The Admissions Office is located on the second floor of Thurmond Hall. Our team looks forward to meeting you!
