Interested in becoming an SLP but earned your bachelor’s degree in another field?

The OBU SLP Pathway to Excellence offers a streamlined and affordable way to complete your
SLP prerequisite courses AND qualify for automatic admission to the OBU MS-SLP program.

Why Choose the Pathway to Excellence?

Benefits when you complete all seven courses through OBU:

  • Guaranteed graduate admissions interview
  • Expedited admissions decision (within 15 business days)
  • If you are offered admission:
    • $200 enrollment deposit waived
    • $1000 tuition credit towards first semester of graduate courses
    • Total savings: $1200

Students who complete SLP Core Prerequisite courses at another institution are NOT eligible for this pathway.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Complete all seven SLP Core Prerequisite courses through OBU
  • Earn a B or higher AND maintain a 3.25 or higher GPA in prerequisite courses
  • Submit a verified application in CSDCAS by the application deadline with:
    • At least one reference evaluation from an OBU SLP course instructor
    • Recommendation ratings of four or better in all areas from all evaluators
  • Meet all other published admission requirements

Students who complete SLP Core Prerequisite courses at OBU but do not meet these criteria are eligible to apply for admission but are not eligible for guaranteed admission or financial incentives.
