We make an education at OBU affordable with many scholarship opportunities, including several full-tuition scholarships and even scholarships exclusive to students majoring in music degrees.
Incoming Freshmen Scholarships
OBU automatically awards two annual scholarships to incoming freshmen based on academic achievement or demonstrated need.

Scholarships listed are applicable for students entering OBU for the first time during the 2023-24 academic year. Students must enroll full-time to qualify. Some scholarships may not be applicable for student athletes, full-tuition scholarship recipients, or students currently receiving the employee education benefit.
Music Scholarships
Incoming Freshmen Scholarships
Music scholarships range from $500 to $10,000 and are renewed annually as long as a student continues in their music major.
Application and Audition Process
- Apply to OBU. This is the first step in the process. Admittance into the program and scholarship awards are based on acceptance into the university.
- Complete and submit OBU's music application. This must be completed prior to scheduling a music audition.
Following your audition, you will be sent two notices. The first will communicate your readiness to pursue a degree in music from OBU. The second will provide detailed information related to financial aid offered to you.
Upperclassmen Scholarships
Currently, OBU offers over 30 endowed scholarships totaling more than $150,000 to upperclass music majors.
