Review Admission Requirements
All applications must be submitted through the Occupational Therapy Centralized Application System (OTCAS).
Checklist of Requirements
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree completed (or in final semester) at the time of application.
- GPA: Minimum 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA.
- Prerequisites: Grade of ‘C’ or higher in all prerequisite courses.
- Observation: 30 hours of direct/indirect OT observation or inquiry completed within the past 5 years.
- Letters of Recommendation (3): OT practitioner (1), professional (1, if no OT recommendation available then 2), and personal (1).
- Personal Statement: Uploaded directly to OTCAS.
- Resume: Recommended.
- Disclosures: Essential standards, hybrid learning, technology, lab immersion, and background check disclosures (completed within OTCAS).
- Language Proficiency: TOEFL, Duolingo, or IELTS scores required if English is not your first language.
Post-Admission Note: If accepted, you must complete a background check, drug screen, and provide proof of immunizations for fieldwork placements. Please note: A felony conviction may impact your ability to sit for the NBCOT exam or attain state licensure.
The Admission Process

- Submit Application: Complete your file via OTCAS, including all transcripts, letters, fees, and recommended resume.
- Initial Screening: An OTD advisor reviews eligibility and calculates a composite score based on your materials.
- Interview: Top-ranking applicants are invited to complete a video interview.
- Faculty & Committee Review: Faculty score interviews and references using a standardized rubric. The Admissions Committee then conducts a holistic evaluation of the entire file.
- Notification: Applicants receive their admissions decision via email.
