That is the vision behind Oklahoma Baptist University’s Prison Divinity Program. In partnership with Oklahoma Baptists and the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, OBU provides incarcerated students with a fully accredited Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies, bringing a Christ-centered, Christian liberal arts education inside prison walls.
The impact doesn’t stop with a degree.
Students are equipped to live out their faith and serve as field ministers, bringing the hope of the gospel and a message of redemption to fellow inmates across Oklahoma. The program seeks to cultivate safer prison environments, encourage meaningful change and provide a pathway toward reduced recidivism through the ministry of its graduates.
