OBU to Host Baptist Conference Oct. 8

Oklahoma Baptist University will host a conference on Baptists and Spiritual Formation on Thursday, Oct. 8, on the OBU campus. The event will run from 1 to 7:30 p.m. and will feature Dr. Bobby Jamieson and Dr. R. Lucas Stamps as speakers.

The conference is part of events connected with the David S. Dockery and Timothy F. George Center for Baptist Renewal. Registration is required and costs $15, which includes dinner. Attendees can sign up in advance through the official CBR 2026 Registration Link.

Jamieson joined the Midwestern Seminary faculty in 2026 after nearly a decade in full-time pastoral ministry. His academic interests include New Testament literature, the Trinity, the person of Christ and how systematic theology serves exegesis.

He has authored several books, including Everything Is Never Enough: Ecclesiastes’ Surprising Path to Resilient Happiness (WaterBrook, 2025); with Tyler Wittman, Biblical Reasoning: Christological and Trinitarian Rules for Exegesis (Baker Academic, 2022); The Paradox of Sonship: Christology in the Epistle to the Hebrews (IVP Academic, 2021); and The Path to Being a Pastor: A Guide for the Aspiring (Crossway, 2021).

Stamps serves as professor of Christian theology and director of the master’s programs at the Clamp Divinity School of Anderson University. He has written numerous books, essays and articles, including The Baptist Vision with OBU’s Dr. Matthew Emerson.

Stamps also serves on the board of directors for the David S. Dockery and Timothy F. George Center for Baptist Renewal. He lives with his wife and five children in Anderson, South Carolina.
