OBU Welcomes Dr. Kevin Gao
Oklahoma Baptist University has named Dr. Chaoyang “Kevin” Gao assistant professor of mathematics. He joins the Division of Mathematics to teach undergraduate courses and advise students.
His appointment supports OBU’s continued investment in STEM education and the university’s expanding engineering program.
Gao’s mathematics degrees include a Bachelor of Science from Biola University in 2019 and both a Master of Science in 2022 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 2026 at the University of California, Riverside. His doctoral studies focused on differential geometry.
Prior to joining OBU, Gao taught at the University of California, Riverside and California Baptist University, where he gained experience teaching and mentoring students.
“Dr. Gao’s commitment to teaching excellence and passion for mentoring students make him a valuable addition as OBU continues to expand its engineering program and strengthen STEM education across the university,” said Dr. Cherith Tucker, chair of OBU’s Division of Mathematics.
