OBU to Host All-State Choir Camp for High School Singers Sept. 5
Oklahoma Baptist University will host its High School All-State Choir Prep Camp on Saturday, September 5, offering student vocalists across the state an opportunity to refine their skills ahead of competitive auditions.
Oklahoma Baptist University will host its 2026 All-State Choir Camp on Saturday, Sept. 5, providing high school singers with focused preparation for upcoming Oklahoma High School All-State Choir auditions.
The camp is open to all students eligible to audition for the Oklahoma High School All-State Choir, including current sophomores, juniors and seniors.
Designed to help students prepare for the audition process, the one-day camp will offer instruction from OBU faculty and experienced high school choral educators. Participants will receive training from Dr. Joshua Chism, associate professor of music, choral and vocal, Dr. Stephen Sims, Clair McGavern-Nancy Montgomery Professor of Music and associate professor of music and area choir directors with extensive experience preparing students for All-State auditions.
The camp’s primary focus will be preparation of the four required Oklahoma All-State audition selections: “Nisi Dominus” by Galuppi, “Crucifixus” by Lotti, “Cum Sancto Spiritu” by Woo and “Hold On” by Boyd.
Students of all experience levels are encouraged to attend. Instruction will be tailored to provide appropriate challenges within a positive and supportive learning environment.
The camp will conclude with a student “in-formance” celebrating the day’s learning and musical growth.
The first 50 students to register will receive copies of all four audition selections as part of their registration.
Registration for the Senior High All-State Camp is $25 per student. Students registered through their choir director may attend for a reduced rate of $20 per student.
The registration deadline is Aug. 28, 2026. Walk-in and late registrations will be accepted on the day of the event, though those participants will not receive a camp T-shirt.
Check-in will take place in Shawnee Hall on OBU’s campus.
