OBU to Feature Christopher Harding as Guest Concert Pianist

Pianist Christopher Harding will perform a concert as part of Oklahoma Baptist University’s Keyboard Academy Friday, Nov. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel’s Yarborough Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public.

Harding maintains an international presence as a noted teacher and performer in venues throughout the United States, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy Romania, Russia and Canada.

Harding is a permanent guest professor at the Sichuan Conservatory in Chengdu, China, where he holds yearly master classes. He has served as a Fulbright senior specialist at both the Sichuan Conservatory (2008) and Seoul National University (2011).

In addition to serving as chair of piano and teaching undergraduate and graduate piano performance and chamber music at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance, Harding serves on the faculty of the Indiana University Summer Piano Academy.

An acclaimed performer, Harding has taken 25 first prizes in national and international competitions. In 1999, he was awarded the special "Mozart Prize" at the Cleveland International Piano Competition, given for the best performance of a composition by Mozart.
