May 6, 2020

Dr. Lyda Wilbur, assistant professor of Spanish, shared the online chapel devotion Wednesday, May 6. The message was the seventh and final online chapel devotion since the University moved to fully online learning for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester.

Wilbur earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in marketing and a minor in Spanish from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. She then earned a Master of Arts in Spanish from Millersville University in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She also earned a Master of Science in educational leadership studies from Oklahoma State University. She most recently completed a Doctor of Education in curriculum and instruction from the University of Oklahoma. She has many years of experience teaching Spanish in Oklahoma. She has also served as principal of Mitchell Elementary School and Will Rogers High School, both in Tulsa.

Students will continue earning chapel credits for the remainder of the semester by watching the chapel message online and then answering a brief quiz in the University’s Canvas Learning System. Students who are unable to view the service via Facebook Live may access the videos in Canvas after the live broadcast concludes. The messages are also available on the OBU YouTube Channel on the OBU Chapel playlist.
