Gideon to Deliver OBU Winter Commencement Address Dec. 14

Dr. Blake Gideon, senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Edmond, will deliver OBU’s Winter Commencement address during the 2 p.m. graduation ceremony Friday, Dec. 14, in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium.
The Winter Commencement will feature a graduation ceremony for OBU’s undergraduate students and graduate students from the OBU Graduate College.
Gideon graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005 with an undergraduate degree in theology. He then received a Master of Arts in religious education and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern in 2008. He completed his Doctor of Ministry at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2015. He is the author of several books, including “Soaring with the Eagles,” “Unvarnished Truth,” “Identity,” and “What Baptists Believe and Why They Believe It.”
He and his wife, Kelly, have four children. Other than spending time with his family, he enjoys bass fishing, hunting, CrossFit training
