Enactus is an international non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring students to improve the world through entrepreneurial action. Founded in 2010, the OBU Enactus team is dedicated to initiating business innovation with integrity and passion by connecting students with business leaders. This project serves as a way to teach OBU students practical business skills while also supporting a charitable cause.

Isabella Scarinzi, marketing major and vice-president of OBU Enactus, is grateful for the opportunity to serve a local community of people in need.

“Our culture is flooded with news about the refugee crisis,” she said. “I often feel incapable of making a difference, but this event is a tangible way to leave a lasting impact on nearby refugees.”

The Spero Project is an organization working to see the church of Oklahoma City fully engage with its community members. At a critical time in its development, both the founders and several members of the board of directors began working extensively with the refugee population of the city. Since then, The Spero Project has worked closely with other institutions to address the specific needs of Oklahoma City and its refugees.

Those unable to attend the Spero Sprint are encouraged to visit Freddy’s Fundraiser Night Monday, April 2, from 5-9 p.m. Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers in Shawnee has agreed to donate 15 percent of profits from customers who mention the Spero Sprint at the time of their order.
