The Bison Glee Club, under the direction of Dr. Brent Ballweg, recently announced spring performance and tour dates in locations throughout Oklahoma and Kansas.
Founded in 1938 by Warren M. Angell, former dean of the College of Fine Arts, the Bison Glee Club is an auditioned group of the finest male musicians on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University. The group has long been considered one of the premiere men's choruses in the Southwest and has toured extensively throughout the United Stated as well as in Canada, Europe and the Far East.
Its annual season features a variety of performances including tour concerts, regular campus concerts, Homecoming Gala, Hanging of the Green, chapel events and numerous Oklahoma area appearances. The group has been featured as an honor choir for the Oklahoma Music Educators Conference and the Baptist Church Music Conference. The Bison Glee Club is under the direction of Ballweg, director of choral activities.
The first performances of the spring will be held Sunday, Feb. 22. That morning, the group will perform during the 10:45 a.m. service at First Baptist Church of Seminole, Oklahoma. The church is located at 420 Reid St. For more information call (405) 382-0734.

Sunday, March 29, the group will begin its spring tour. They will perform at Pleasantview Baptist Church in Derby, Kansas, during both the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services. The church is located at 1335 N. Buckner. For more information, call (316) 788-3734.

Monday, March 30, the group will perform at Washburn Rural High School in Topeka at 9:45 a.m. followed by an afternoon performance at Derby High School at 2 p.m.
Monday evening, March 30, the Glee Club will appear at First Baptist Church in McPherson, Kansas. The performance will take place at 7 p.m. The church is located at 600 E. Marlin. For more information, call (316) 729-5399.
Tuesday, March 31, the group will perform at Guthrie High School in Guthrie, Oklahoma, at 12:30 p.m.
The Bison Glee Club will conclude their spring appearance schedule with a concert performance Saturday, May 2. The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Yarborough Auditorium. The event will be combined with the Bisonettes Women's Glee Club.
