"I am excited about the variety of this season," said Dr. Jeffrey Wells, associate professor and director of theatre. "The 2012-13 season truly hits at a wide range of emotions while addressing what it means to be human."

"The Diary of Anne Frank" is written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, based on the book, "Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl." The production will open OBU Theatre's season Nov. 1, 2, 3 and 8 at 7:30 p.m., and Nov. 4 and 10 at 2:30 p.m. The performance is most appreciated by audience members age 12 and older.

Both heart-warming and sobering, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play recounts the daily life and bitter trials of two Jewish families struggling to remain hidden from Hitler's Nazi regime. Adapted from the diary of an adolescent girl living through the experience in Amsterdam, the play is filled with poignant, life-affirming lessons.

"Schoolhouse Rock Live!" will be performed March 8-9 at 7:30 p.m. and March 9-10 at 2:30 p.m. The production is most appreciated by audience members age 5 and older.

Based on the 1970s Emmy Award-winning cartoon series, "Schoolhouse Rock Live!" follows Tom, a school teacher who is nervous about his first day of teaching. Tom turns on the TV and is surprised to find various characters emerging from the set to show him how to win his students over with imagination and music. Adults and children alike will enjoy the classic songs such as "Just a Bill," "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly" and "Conjunction Junction."

"An Evening of Southern Charm: One-Act Plays by Southern Authors" will be presented April 25, 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m., and April 27 at 2:30 p.m. The performance is most appreciated by audience members age 12 and older.

OBU Theatre will present an evening of one-act plays by some of America's most beloved Southern playwrights, directed by both OBU faculty members and students. The evening will bring back memories and inspire laughter as the authors weave insightful philosophy with the poetry of the Southern vernacular.

All productions will be presented in Craig-Dorland Theatre in Shawnee Hall. For more information about OBU Theatre, call (405) 878-2347.
