New Staff Join Admissions Team

October 24, 2011

Bertholomew Bailey Jessica Herbert Dorraine Hudson

"Each time an experienced team member moves on to a new chapter in ministry, we often wonder how he or she can ever be replaced," said Bruce Perkins, dean of enrollment management and director of admissions. "However, God has always been faithful to bring us new personnel that keep adding value to the team. The addition of Bertholomew, Jessica and Dorraine is no exception. The contribution each of these individuals brings to the table in terms of work ethic, relational skills and their passion for Christ and OBU will certainly position the Admissions Team for continued success."

Bailey serves as admissions counselor for prospective students from the Oklahoma City metro area. He is a 2008 graduate of OBU, and he has completed work toward a master's degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received the presidential scholarship. He previously worked for the Department of Human Services, both as an adoption specialist case aide and an adoption transition worker, and he received the "most professional" award in core training.

Herbert serves as admissions counselor for prospective students from Northwestern Oklahoma, Colorado and the Western United States, as well as for U.S. citizens living abroad. She is a 2010 OBU graduate. During her time on Bison Hill, Herbert served as a member of The Herd, a student organization which assists in the recruitment of new students to OBU. She has served as a short-term English teacher in China through Americans Teaching English in Asia, Straits Newman International School and A Plus Learning Center.

Hudson serves as admissions counselor for transfer students from Oklahoma and Texas. She earned a bachelor's degree from OBU in 1991. She previously served as director of marketing for Hudson & Co. CPAs, LLP, in Shawnee. She served as a financial advisor for IDS, Minnesota Mutual and Oppenheimer in West Des Moines, Iowa; supervisor of payroll and billing at Wright Tree Service in West Des Moines; and office manager and district trainer of Farmers Insurance Group in Minneapolis, Minn., and Sturgis, S.D.

Potts, who grew up in Ponca City, Okla., graduated from Oklahoma State University in May 2009 with bachelor's degrees in journalism and broadcasting.

"Rachel has been on our team for the past two years and has performed at a very high level," Perkins said. "Her efforts have resulted in two strong classes of incoming freshmen from the Oklahoma City territory."

In her new role, Potts is responsible for working with prospective students from Lincoln and Pottawatomie counties, as well as counseling concurrent students. She also leads in the planning and implementation of all campus visit events.
