OBU Has Three on All-SAC Softball Team

May 5, 2008

Jayme Boyer, a junior from Shawnee, and Jami Pate, a senior from Claremore, were named First-Team, while Brooke Stevens, a senior from Langley, B.C., was listed on the Second Team.

Boyer, who has now made the team all three years, was included this year as a utility player, having spent much of her time in right field this season in addition to her usual position as catcher.

Boyer hit .369 with nine home runs and 40 RBI. She also tied an NAIA record with three home runs in one game and, along with Stevens, became the first teammates in NAIA history to each hit three home runs in one game. With the addition of a long ball by Brittney Day, OBU set an NAIA record with seven home runs in one game.

Pate, OBU's center fielder, made the team as an outfielder. She hit .342 with two home runs, 14 stolen bases and 26 RBI from the leadoff position.

Stevens, who caught and played DP, batted .352 with six home runs and 32 RBI.
