Bison Assured of Reaching NAIA Tournament

What was in question a week ago is now a certainty - Oklahoma Baptist will be headed to the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament.

Crucial wins over Rogers State and John Brown prodded the Bison from a three-way tie for fourth into a final tie for third and bumped the Bison from 32nd in the previous Top 25 poll to No. 17 in the all-important final ranking released Wednesday.

With several teams already having secured automatic berths, the Bison are assured of an at-large bid if they fail to secure an automatic berth through the conference tournament.

Oklahoma City is ranked 7th, Southern Nazarene 9th, Wayland Baptist 22nd and Northwestern 30th.

OBU ended the regular season with a 22-8 record.

The Lady Bison also secured a national tournament bid, maintaining their No. 8 ranking for a third consecutive week. The OBU women are 27-3 this season.
