OBU had a 27-12 lead with 7:21 left in the first half but the Lady Rangers knocked the lead down to 29-22 with 4:50 left on back-to-back McKenzie Malloy three-pointers.
Jennifer Jupin and Gamble added three-pointers in a half-closing 7-0 run for a 36-22 halftime advantage.
Northwestern got no closer than 11 in the second half and the lead peaked on a Gamble three-pointer, 73-43, with 3:57 to play.
Gamble led OBU with 17 points, while Heather Graham added 13 and Keely Tolin 10. Betsy Simmons had nine points and 15 rebounds.
Emily Gilbert had 14 to lead Northwestern.
OBU resumes action Saturday with a road game at Oklahoma Christian. Tip off is 6 p.m.
