Lady Bison Sweep SNU

April 2, 2005

Allison Ramzy homered in the first game, making her the eighth Lady Bison to take one over the fence this season. The last time OBU had eight players hit home runs was 1982.

"We've had a lot of seasons when we didn't hit eight home runs, much less have eight players hit home runs," said OBU coach Pam Fink. "It's pretty exciting."

Amanda Zahara got her 10th win of the season in the opener, allowing two runs, one earned, with three strikeouts against four hits.

Ramzy had three hits and two RBI while Cathy Nitz had two hits and three RBI. Brett Swofford and Melissa Martinez also had two hits and one RBI each. Katy Thurber also had an RBI.

In the 11-2 win, Brooke Stevens had two hits, including her second home run of the season, and four RBI. Ramzy had two more hits and Nitz had a hit and three RBI. Ashley Howard had two hits and an RBI and Sandralina Rones drove home a run.

Howard got the win to move to 5-2, with Megan Buller getting her first pitching action of the year, shutting out SNU for two innings on one hit.

OBU (16-7, 5-3) will play at Oklahoma City Tuesday.
