Bison Run-Rule OCU in Split

The Bison broke open a scoreless tie with three runs in the second inning. Rett Terrell got the rally going with a solo home run. Kip Keith then doubled and moved to third on an Eric Curry single. Frank Ibarra and Nick Bakich followed with RBI singles.

OBU pasted seven more runs on the scoreboard in the third on RBI walks by Curry and Bakich, RBI singles by Aaron Dickson, Ibarra and Danny Guidry, and RBI ground out by Felix Peguero and a wild pitch.

OCU reached Sean Dryden for a run in the bottom of the third on a Colby Overstreet RBI single.

The Bison pounced for two more runs in the fourth with an RBI ground out by Dickson and an RBI single by Ibarra.

Nick Klusaw homered for OCU in the fifth, but the Stars failed to convert for a game-extending run as Dryden secured the win.

Ibarra had three hits for OBU, with Guidry, Terrell and Keith adding two each.

The Bison started the second game just as strong with a four-run first inning on an RBI single by Peguero, a sacrifice fly by Guidry and a two-run home run by Adam Dalby.

But the Stars broke loose and scored four in the bottom of the first with a three-run home run by Overstreet paving the way. OCU led by as much as 8-4 before OBU cut it to the final margin with a solo home run by Peguero in the sixth.

Peguero and Dickson had two hits each in OBU’s seven-hit output.

Brent Terrell (5-2) took the loss.

OBU (25-8, 4-2) and OCU (32-6, 4-2) have moved their game scheduled for Saturday to Monday at OBU.
