Bison Roll Past Kansas Wesleyan

Felix Peguero ripped his third home run and drove in four runs with three hits in the opener, pacing the 16-hit attack.

Sean Dryden picked up the win with six strikeouts in four innings of the five-inning contest.

The Bison posted five runs in the first on an RBI double by Danny Guidry, a two-run single by Peguero and an RBI double by Rett Terrell. A fifth run scored on a wild pitch.

The lead swelled to 9-0 in the second with a run-scoring passed ball, RBI walks by Terrell and Eric Curry, and an run-scoring error.

KWU scored twice in the top of the third, but the OBU onslaught continued in the bottom of that frame with nine more runs.

The 13-batter inning took off after the second out with no one on. After a Brad Miller walk, Peguero homered for an 11-3 lead. Later came a two-run double by Curry, a two-run single by Miller, a two-run double by Chris Cox and an RBI triple by Guidry.

Reliever Jason Stark allowed an unearned run in the fifth for the final total.

In the second game, OBU trailed briefly but not after Nick Bakich's two-run home run in the third. Guidry had an RBI triple later that inning for a 3-1 Bison lead.

The Coyotes cut it to 3-2 in the fourth, but the Bison answered in their half of the inning on a two-run single by Bakich, a sacrifice fly bu Guidry and a two-run double by Peguero for an 8-2 lead.

Brian West hit a three-run home run in a four-run KWU fifth inning to pull within 8-6.

The final run came in the bottom of the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Aaron Dickson.

J Vinson picked up the win in relief with Chad Rhoades grabbing the save.

The Bison host Houston Baptist on Monday.
