Oklahoma Baptist University's Bison and Lady Bison suffered a sweep in a Sooner Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday at Lubbock Christian University.
The Lady Bison dropped a 73-67 decision before the OBU men lost a 78-69 decision. It was the first time in the Doug Tolin and John McCullough coaching eras that both teams left Texas winless.
OBU was swept by host Wayland Baptist on Thursday in Plainview.
The Bison led by as many as 13 points, 27-14, in the first half and took a 36-26 lead into the lockers at halftime. OBU limited the Chaparrals to 18.2 percent field goal shooting with three blocks from Mike Fraser in the opening half.
OBU still led 46-39 with 14:09 left before Brandon Jones went on a personal 10-point run with two 3-pointers to put LCU ahead 49-46 with 11:24 left. Andrew Bryant answered with a three to re-tie the game at the 10:38 mark. Bailey Jones followed for another three to give the lead back to OBU.
