Bisonettes to Perform Spring Concert April 27

From Vivaldi to Bob Seger, for Sir David Willcocks to Nat King Cole, the concert will showcase women's choir music from all styles including two compositions with string trio and harpsichord. The first concert performance of Ralph Manuels Brazilian Alleluia will be sung, as will an unpublished composition by Dr. Jim Vernon, Chair of the Division of Music at OBU.

Dr. Bonnie Borshay Sneed, associate professor of choral music at OBU, will conduct the free concert.

Sneed, who joined the OBU faculty last fall, is a 1984 graduate of Furman University, She earned her master of music in choral conducting in 1985 from Southern Methodist University. She earned doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting from Michigan State University in 1990.

Since 1991, Sneed has served as associate professor of music and director of choral activities at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. There she conducted the Concert Choir, Alumni and Friends Chorale, Chamber Choir, Tenor-Bass Chorale, Women's Choir, and Collegium Orchestra. She has written a number of choral arrangements and articles and has been active as a clinician and adjudicator.
