Bison Second at Knights Invitational

The OBU golf team placed second at the Knights Invitational Wednesday, hosted by Northwood University at Dallas' Tangleridge Golf Club.

The Bison shot a two-round total of 613 and finished 17 strokes back of 23rd-ranked Northwood in the five-team tournament. OBU had three golfers in the top 10.

Rob Morgan shot a 72 and a 79 to finish in a tie for eighth at seven over par. Bryan Lassiter and Russell Kern shot matching 152s to finish tied for 10th. Lassiter had a pair of 76s and Kern shot a 74 and a 78.

Rounding things out for the Bison was Justin Rhodes with a 158 in 17th place. Rhodes dropped 10 strokes off his score in the second round. Marc Johnson was 23rd at 166.

The Bison finished ahead of Southwestern College (Kan.), College of the Southwest (Texas) and Texas A&M International.

OBU will play in the Region VI Tournament at Tangleridge April 26-27.
