Perkins to Lead Students in Chapel Service

He previously served as pastor of Memorial Baptist Church in Grapevine, Texas. He also has been pastor of First Baptist Church in Troup, Texas, minister to youth at First Baptist Church of Forest Hill in Fort Worth, Texas, and minister of music and youth at Central Baptist Church in Brownwood, Texas.

Perkins has served as vice-president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary's national alumni association. He also served a term on the committee on committees for the Southern Baptist Convention.

Perkins was on the board of trustees as well as the development council for Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine, Texas.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Howard Payne University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He completed a master's of divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He and his wife, Pamela, have two children.
