Bade to Present Clarinet Recital

Accompanying Bade on piano will be Dr. Melissa Roberts, assistant professor of music, Dr. Carol Ann Bell, associate professor of piano and Sandra Meyer, associate professor of music.

Also accompanying Bade will be Dr. Ron Davis, associate professor of organ, on organ; James Vernon, associate professor of music, on timpani; Kevin Pruiett, assistant professor of music, on trumpet; Dr. James Hansford, professor of music, on trombone and Michelle Bade on clarinet.

"I have included OBU colleagues on previous programs," Bade said. "It has been a joy to make music with my colleagues, all of whom are outstanding musicians in their own right."

His program will include works for clarinet by Berger, Medelssohn, Sutermeister, Beaucamp, Broughton and Starer.

Bade is a member of the College Music Society and the International Clarinet Association. He performs regularly with the Tulsa Philharmonic, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and conducts clinics in Oklahoma, Ohio, Nebraska and Iowa.

Bade is a member of the ensemble Tre Clarinetti, along with his wife, Michelle, and Kentucky clarinet professor Sarah Nowlin.

Bade received a bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University, a master's degree from University of Akron and a doctorate from the University of Illinois.

He and wife, Michelle, have two children.
