Harvest Court to be Named Saturday

Oklahoma Baptist University will announce the winners of its 2001 Harvest Queen and Court Saturday as part of the annual Homecoming festivities.

The group will be named at the annual Alumni Showcase and Harvest Festival 8 p.m. in Potter Auditorium of Raley Chapel on the OBU campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The traditional Harvest Court is composed of the Harvest Queen and King and their court: the Best All-Around Man and Woman and the Most Popular Man and Woman. The 18 senior candidates for the six-member Harvest Court were nominated by campus clubs and organizations and then voted on by the student body.

Candidates for Most Popular Man are Samuel Dallas, a Bible major from Oklahoma City; Jason Elliott, an exercise science and sports medicine major from Albuquerque, N.M.; and Justin Elliott, a marketing major from Albuquerque.

Candidates for Most Popular Woman include Paula Green, a psychology major from Fayetteville, Ark.; Whitney Howell, a nursing major from Fritch, Texas; and Tracy Poplin, a special education major from Spokane, Wash.

Candidates for Best All-Around Man are Christopher Campbell, a voice major from Tulsa; Ryan Payne, an interdisciplinary major from Broken Arrow; and Lance Peeler, a music theory and composition major from Harrah.

Candidates for Best All-Around Woman are Callie Moore, a secondary math education major from Bethany; Amy Peeler, a biblical languages major from Oklahoma City; and Jill Westberry, a recreation administration major from Moore.

Candidates for Harvest King include Blake Connelly, a biblical languages and English major from Tulsa; Daniel Morgan, a history major from Norman; and Joseph Tenney, a biblical languages major from San Antonio, Texas.

Candidates for Harvest Queen are Ashley Campbell, a public relations major from Broken Arrow; Sky Chaddick, a piano major from Amarillo, Texas; and Mandy Laird, an elementary education major from Buffalo, Wy.
