OBU December Honor and Predicate Graduates

Oklahoma Baptist University will confer degrees on 75 students Friday, including 18 who will receive academic predicates.

Three students have maintained at least a 3.95 grade point average on all work offered for the degree and have qualified for the predicate summa cum laude. They are: Jala Diane Chesser, Allen, Texas, bachelor's degree in Spanish; Brendon Scott Hollingsworth, Oklahoma City, bachelor's degree in international business; and Kerri Kathleen White, Ponca City, bachelor's degree in mathematics education.

Eight students have maintained at least a 3.70 grade point average and will graduate with the predicate magna cum laude. They are: Emily Christine Ball, Milan, Tenn., bachelor's degree in cross-cultural ministry; Douglas Andrew Jones, Aurora, Colo., bachelor's degree in cross-cultural ministry; Megan Lorraine Tinley, Abilene, Texas, bachelor's degree in Spanish education; Jennifer Leah Brand, Spring, Texas, bachelor's degree in instrumental music education; Joy Beth Stewart, Norman, bachelor's degree in elementary and early childhood education; Robyn Reine Trent, Dallas, Texas, bachelor's degree in recreation administration; Kitty Racquel Cupp, bachelor's degrees in health, physical education and recreation and religion; and Lisa Lynn Tennell, Bartlesville, bachelor's degree in elementary and early childhood education.

Seven students earned the predicate cum laude by maintaining at least a 3.40 grade point average. They are: Daphne Ann Capps, Bixby, bachelor's degree in youth ministry; Melina May Hilfiker, Carmel, Ind., bachelor's degree in elementary education; Kersten N. Walters, Shawnee, bachelor's degree in special education; Matthew Braden Crutchmer, Oklahoma City, bachelor's degree in international business, William Francis Hill, Denton, Texas, bachelor's degree in computer information systems; Lisa Ann Dill, San Antonio, Texas, bachelor's degree in early childhood education; and Carla Joy Jones, Aurora, Colo., bachelor's degree in family psychology.

The ceremony will be Friday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. in Raley Chapel. Dr. Mark Brister, president of OBU, will be the speaker.
