OBU’s J-Term Classes Begin Here and Abroad

Oklahoma Baptist University's January Term, 2000, began this week with more than 550 students returning to campus for the start of classes, Monday, Jan. 3. The four-week J-Term allows students to complete course hours within the month of January.

More than 90 courses are offered this January, including classes in Unified Studies, English, German, Spanish, journalism, history, political science, marriage and family therapy, psychology, sociology, anthropology, social work, biology, chemistry, mathematics, health, P.E., recreation, education, early childhood education, special education, accounting, computer and information systems, finance, health care administration, marketing, management, applied ministry, religion, philosophy, communication arts, music, church music, voice, and nursing.

Students also have the opportunity to travel abroad for classes designed as topics courses, such as "Spanish History and Society", taught in Spain by OBU professors, and "Streets and Neighborhoods of London", "International Telecommunications", and "London Cultural Studies", taught in London.

Courses are also offered in different locations throughout the U.S., such as a leadership seminar, taught by an OBU professor in Wolf Creek, Colo., and a cross-cultural/community development skills course taught in Lake Wales, Fla.

Thursday, Jan. 6 is the last day to register for J-Term classes. Final exams will be held Thursday, Jan. 27.

Spring semester classes begin Jan.31.
