Biography

Elbert Smith returned to Oklahoma Baptist University in 2022, moving from London where he and his wife, Kay, had completed thirty years with the International Mission Board. While with the IMB, the Smiths served in Latin America, South Asia and the UK, Kay as a nurse and Elbert as a church planter. He also directed the IMB's orientation of new missionaries for fifteen years. Elbert and Kay met their freshman year at OBU and have enjoyed being back on campus. The Smiths have three adult children.
