BGCO Exec To Speak at OBU

Dr. Anthony Jordan, executive director-treasurer of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, will speak at Oklahoma Baptist University’s weekly chapel on Wednesday, October 17 at 10 a.m.

Jordan will speak on prayer as he continues the 2007-2008 Chapel series “Stepping Stones.” The series is based on Richard Foster’s book Celebration of Discipline.

In 1997, Jordan was elected executive director-treasurer after serving as a pastor for more than 28 years. Jordan has served on the boards for a variety of organizations, including the Southern Baptist Convention, Southwest Baptist University, Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, the Hope Pregnancy Center and the Oklahoma City ACTS organization.

Jordan has numerous published works and writes a weekly column in the Baptist Messenger.

The Skiatook, Okla., native earned his bachelor’s degree from Southwest Baptist University. Jordan received both his master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Jordan and his wife, Polla, have two children, Adrian and Alisha.
