Scholarship Application

The College of Graduate and Professional Studies at Oklahoma Baptist University invites incoming graduate business students to apply for the scholarships listed below. Scholarship applications should be submitted by July 15th for students beginning in fall and January 15th for students starting in the spring.

MBA Scholarship Disclaimers

Only one scholarship may be earned per student. Students must be enrolled six hours per academic term to qualify for the scholarship. Scholarships are not available to MBA Integrated students. Students do not need to reapply each semester for the CGPS scholarships.

Students must adhere to the academic qualifications described within the course handbook; otherwise, the given scholarship will no longer be awarded. If a student does not successfully achieve the minimum required grade for renewal, the student may be able to reapply the scholarship after a subsequent successful semester.

If a student withdraws after enrolling, the award will be removed and appropriate charges applied to their account.

International Student Scholarship

The International Student Scholarship provides opportunities for international students wishing to advance their degree and career in varying forms of business. It grants individuals the opportunity to gain valuable skills needed to be successful as a businessman or businesswoman.

International Student Scholarship Criteria:

  • Applicant must be attending OBU graduate program on an I-20 application
  • Demonstrate at least a 3.25 undergraduate or graduate GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per term to receive scholarship award

Recipients must remain enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in order to continue to receive the scholarship award.

OBU Alumni Scholarship 

Created to provide more opportunities and resources for graduates of OBU, the OBU Alumni Scholarship seeks to maintain tradition and support of Oklahoma Baptist University. Students qualifying for this scholarship will be rewarded based on their dedication, undergraduate performance and leadership capabilities.

OBU Alumni Scholarship Criteria:

  • Applicant must have successfully graduated with a degree from Oklahoma Baptist University
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per term to receive scholarship award

Recipients must remain enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in order to continue to receive the scholarship award.

Avery T. Willis Scholarship 

As OBU has deep roots with the Southern Baptist Convention, OBU aims to support fellow members of the SBC with an opportunity to attain graduate education. The Avery T. Willis Scholarship will allow members to gain an integrated education that meets the needs of business, education and Christianity.

Designed to support those living missionally overseas or in North America, this scholarship gives those who are affiliated with the IMB, NAMB, SBC or another Christian mission organization an opportunity to create and define vital skills that could enhance the mission field. OBU has a deep fondness for those serving Christ around the globe. 

Avery  T. Willis Scholarship Criteria: 

  • Applicant must submit written documentation of active affiliation or membership with an IMB, NAMB, SBC, or other approved Christian mission organization
  • Demonstrate at least a 3.25 undergraduate or graduate GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per term to receive scholarship award

Recipients must remain enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in order to continue to receive the scholarship award.

Leaders of Today Scholarship

The Leaders of Today Scholarship awards individuals who have made a significant and positive impact on their community. From leading a company as a CEO or leading a small group of people in a community wide project, this scholarship gives individuals the opportunity to define their leadership skills to a greater degree by earning an MBA in leadership, project management, energy management or international business.

Leaders of Today Scholarship Criteria:

  • Applicant must submit a letter of support from another community leader providing recommendation based on community impact
  • Resume demonstrating professional and leadership experience
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per term to receive scholarship award

Recipients must remain enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in order to continue to receive the scholarship award.

SALLT Leadership Scholarship

The mission of Salt and Light Leadership Training (SALLT) is serving Christian leaders from the public, private and social sectors by helping them leverage their passion, skills and influence for the common good of the city. Oklahoma Baptist University established the SALLT Leadership Scholarship to support the efforts of SALLT leaders in pursuing a graduate education as a means of furthering Kingdom impact.

SALLT Leadership Scholarship Criteria:

  • Applicant must be admitted to the graduate program and a current SALLT participant or SALLT program alumni
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per term to receive scholarship award

Recipients must remain enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in order to continue to receive the scholarship award.
