Good Things Food Pantry

Feeding the Herd

“He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”

Psalm 107:9

Nationwide and among sister CCCU institutions, food insecurity runs among approximately 40% of Universities’ student population. An OBU survey showed that 31% of OBU students have experienced some type of food insecurity and approximately 48% know of other students who have. USDA defines food insecurity as a situation where “consistent access to adequate food is limited by the lack of money and other resources at times during the year.”

OBU’s “Good Things” pantry is to “fill the gap” of food needs and minister to any currently enrolled OBU students. In the few weeks before the pandemic, the pantry served over 120 students. Students utilizing the pantry included international students, MKs, first-generation college students, and athletes.

Donations will be invested as an endowment. This will allow your contribution to continue to grow over the years to feed and support OBU students indefinitely.
