Endowment

$1.5 million

Gifts to the endowment provide OBU the ability to continue to deliver the high quality learning-focused and excellence-driven academic environment for students. The endowment provides funding for student scholarships, academic chairs and professorships, campus lecture series, the honors program, the faculty sabbatical program and emerging Centers of Excellence.

Student Services Center

$8.5 million

Linking one enduring campus landmark with a new major resource for Bison Hill, the Student Services Center will serve as the grand entrance to campus and an inviting welcome center for guests, prospective students and their families.

The first floor will house the of ces of admissions, student financial services, registrar, academic center and bursar. Executive offices will be located on the second floor. Not only will this stately, high-use structure serve the needs of the campus community, but it will also accomplish another goal of the campus master plan, to convert Thurmond Hall into the home of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Your gift will leave a lasting mark on Bison Hill, helping build this critical facility for the University’s growth and success. Your generosity will make a profound difference on campus, touching the lives of thousands of future Bison and impacting generations to come.

Ford Music Hall Renovation

$1.5 million

Generations of students on Bison Hill have honed their musical talents inside Ford Music Hall, the primary practice facility for OBU’s Division of Music and home to the OBU Music Preparatory Department. Constructed in 1951, the facility greets guests as they enter campus on University Street from the east. A planned update of nearly $1.4 million will allow our students to benefit from this iconic building for many generations to come.

After more than six decades of continuous use, the three-story facility needs a fresh look and updates for today’s music student. Renovations include a new heating and cooling system to alleviate humidity issues that impact the tuning and sound of instruments, significant interior updates, new windows and a new roof. To enhance student safety, OBU will install a keyless card-access entry system to the building.

Your gift will help make it possible for students to perfect their musical craft while studying to perform, teach, lead worship, or use their talents in many other ways. Your generosity will preserve the legacy of Ford Music Hall, touching the lives of future Bison and impacting generations through the power of music.

W.P. Wood Science Rebuild

$6.5 million

OBU's strong programs in pre-medicine, physics, biology, mathematics and chemistry have resulted in the need for the expansion of the W.P. Wood Science Building to provide additional laboratories and enhanced classrooms. OBU science programs have produced internationally acclaimed researchers and medical school acceptance rates by graduates that are much higher than the national average.
