The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology is designed to meet the needs of several categories of students. One category consists of students who major in psychology in preparation for graduate study in counseling, clinical, experimental, developmental, social, physiological, or other sub-fields of psychology. Their professional goals are focused on private practice, college teaching or research in their fields of specialization.
Another category includes students who decide to pursue such careers as the Christian ministry, social work, personnel, corrections, and law enforcement for which psychology provides an excellent background. Thus, the psychology major at OBU provides a broad, basic foundation for graduate work in any field of psychology, or for employment in a variety of jobs that require knowledge of human behavior.
