Entrepreneur Inspires OBU Business Students
October 1, 2008Amber Mitchell, president and founder of MY Consulting Group, spoke to Oklahoma Baptist University students in the Paul Dickinson School of Business on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, inspiring them with the story of her ascension on the career ladder from college graduate to business owner. "I really enjoyed Mrs. Mitchell's lecture," said sophomore Joshua Lunch, who was among the business and computer science students at the event. "She made a valuable point: if you don't love what you do, then you are not going to benefit in the long run." Founded in 2003, Mitchell's Oklahoma City company specializes in application development, network services, staff support, and strategic and program management. "Students who heard Amber Mitchell speak benefitted from her first-hand expertise in her own entrepreneurship experiences," said Dr. Cindy Hanchey, OBU's Wheeler Chair of Business and Associate Professor of Computer Science. "She reiterated what I continue to tell everyone - there is a tremendous demand for competent, qualified computer professionals. That demand is long-term and offers many opportunities for our computer graduates." For more information on MY Consulting Group, visit their Web site at http://www.myconsultinggroup.com/index.html.
