Recreation and Wellness Center to Offer Swim Lessons
April 20, 2012
The OBU Recreation and Wellness Center will continue a long-time partnership with instructors Mark Ruiz and Marian Salwierak to provide swimming lessons this summer for children ages 4 and older.
Registration for swimming lessons is Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at the OBU Recreation and Wellness Center on University Drive. Attendees may want to arrive early to obtain a place in line.
During registration, the instructional staff will test and monitor each child for proper class level placement. At that time, parents can register for the specific session and class time. Children should wear a swimsuit to registration for the swimming assessment.
Classes for children ages 4 and 5 will run for two-week sessions. The cost is $45. Classes for children ages 6 and older will run for one week. The cost is $25.
The lessons will take place in OBU’s temperature-controlled pool which supports a salt water filtration system.
