Burroughs to Speak on Women’s Missions and Ministry Day

OBU will welcome author and speaker Esther Burroughs on Wednesday, March 28, for the annual OBU Women’s Missions and Ministry Day. The 10 a.m. service in Raley Chapel will recognize the women of Oklahoma for their valued contributions to OBU. The community is invited to attend.

“Esther has a heart for encouraging women and families in their journey through life,” said Dale Griffin, dean of spiritual life at OBU. “Her passion is to lead women into intimacy with God.”

Burroughs is the author of several books, including “Empowered” and “Splash the Living Water.” She has been married for more than 50 years to her husband, Bob, who will lead worship during the chapel service. Residents of Greer, S.C., they have two grown children and several grandchildren.

Following the chapel service, Burroughs will be honored during a luncheon with OBU President David Whitlock and OBU First Lady Dana Whitlock in the Geiger Center, rooms 218-220. The cost of the luncheon is $10. Reservations may be made with the OBU Spiritual Life office by calling (405) 878-2377.

Griffin invites the women of Oklahoma Baptist churches to join in the special day on Bison Hill, noting Women’s Missions and Ministry Day is an important event on campus.

“We look forward to the opportunity to say, ‘Thank you for your support through the years,’” Griffin said.
