On Saturday, Sept. 17, the OBU’s Campus Activities Board will present its first annual variety show of the year, titled “To Biggie and Beyond.” The anticipated show will begin at 8 p.m. in the Potter Auditorium of Raley Chapel and will feature upperclassmen only. All of the OBU community and the general public are welcome to enjoy the free event.
Leslie Fort, a senior from Houston, Texas, and Daniel Ray, a senior from Chickasha, Okla., are the directors for the show this year.
“Leslie and I chose the ‘space’ theme because space is the reason we met,” Ray said. “We both attended space camp in Houston, Texas, when we were 12 years old. We met in the Gyro Ball. When we met, we immediately sparked a friendship that led to us dreaming of one day directing a show about space at OBU.”
Fort added that, as a Houston girl, she felt the need to “stay true to my NASA roots.”
Campus Activities Board (CAB) conducted auditions for the show’s emcees and acts, and the members of CAB and other Biggie participants will spend several nights prior to the show rehearsing and preparing for the long-running campus event.
Emcees for “To Biggie and Beyond” include Clay Henderson, Sam Henderson, Zach Melton, Parker Goforth and Caitlin Parker. Performers include Jon Livingston, Lauren McHaney, Kat Hunter, Jessi Masterson, Andrew Harper, Parker Goforth, Jonathon Flowers, Blake and Michelle Compton and “The Joshes.”
CAB will also host “Freshman Follies,” a show reserved for performances by freshman, on Saturday, Oct. 8.
