“Tickle Me Pink: Punch Me Purple” was the title of the joint art show of OBU seniors Lindsay Bennett and Stevi Robison, who based the idea for their Crayola-themed show on their personalities.
“We see ourselves as very fun, but still tough,” said Bennett, noting the complementing and contrasting qualities of their personalities provided for an interesting art show.
The showcase of art was displayed April 29-May 5 in the OBU Mabee Learning Center. Both graphic design majors, Bennett is from Fritch, Texas, and Robison is from Sayre, Okla.
In the duo’s show, Bennett said, “there is a constant theme of brighter, vivid colors and a more stylized style of work, somewhat leaning towards abstraction.”
Bennett said she receives inspiration for her artwork from things which interest her.
“I try to take things that appeal to and catch my eye, then portray them through my point of view and my style of art,” she said.
Looking toward the future, Bennett said she has explored many positions in the design field including interior design, greeting card design and children’s book illustration.
Both Bennett and Robison will graduate with bachelor’s degrees in graphic design during OBU’s 97th Spring Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 13.
