OBU senior Jayme Nelson, from Grapevine, Texas, is presenting her senior art show, titled “Body and Mind,” April 23-May 5.
Nelson’s art work will be available for viewing in the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art, located on the campus of St. Gregory’s University, during the normal operating hours of the museum. In honor of her senior art exhibit, a reception will be held April 30 at 7 p.m. at the museum. The community is invited to attend.
Nelson said the art show gives her the opportunity to share the artwork she has created during her studies at OBU.
“The theme of my show is split into two distinct parts,” Nelson said. “The ‘body’ is for the number of pieces in my show which depict the human form, and ‘mind’ represents everything else in my show which has inspired me in the last four years.”
Nelson said her inspiration comes from everything around her, the people she has met, and the places she has been. She also said that the experiences she has had and the emotions that she has felt play a large role in the outcome of her art work.
Nelson said she looks forward to showing her artwork.
“I am excited to have my work shown at the museum and am very pleased with the artwork,” she said.
