The Bison Glee Club, OBU's legendary men's chorus, will tour the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex April1-4. Stops will include three Baptist churches and a performance at the Travis Academy of Fine Arts.
On the way to Texas, the group will perform at First Baptist Church in Ardmore, Okla., on Friday, April 1, at 7 p.m. The community is invited to attend the free performance. The Glee Club will sing during three services at two churches on Sunday, April 3, and the public is invited to attend all the services. The first performances will be at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas during the 9:20 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. worship services. The church is located at 3933 Northwest Parkway, Dallas, TX 75225. The Bison Glee Club was founded by Warren M. Angell, former dean of the College of Fine Arts. Members are selected by audition and represent a number of academic areas of the university. In addition to its tours, the group performs at many churches, schools and campus events across the region.
Members of the 2010-11 Bison Glee Club include Rett Adams, a freshman from Oklahoma City; Andrew Barker, a sophomore from Louisburg, Kan.; Jered Bell, a junior from Magnolia, Texas; Corbin Donavan, a freshman from Stillwater, Okla.; Josh Ferguson, a sophomore from Carrollton, Texas; Johnathan Flowers, a junior from Irving, Texas; Kade Goforth, a senior from Tulsa, Okla.; Curtis Headrick, a sophomore from Sayre, Okla.; Andre Jones, a junior from Lawton, Okla.; Michael Juliano, a freshman from Enid, Okla.; Nathan King, a junior from Shawnee; Ben Koch, a freshman from Blackwell, Okla.; Brenden Laughlin, a junior from Shawnee; Erick Lind, a freshman from Oklahoma City; Jon Livingston, a junior from Bixby, Okla.; Daniel Martinez, a freshman from Oklahoma City; Sean Muzljakovich, a junior from Bartlesville, Okla.; Miles Noah, a senior from Shawnee; Nick Oxford, a sophomore from Arvada, Colo.; Seth Remling, a sophomore from Meridian, Idaho; Jonathan Ruiz, a sophomore from Tulsa; and Ethan Wood, a sophomore from Blanchard, Okla.
The Bison Glee Club is directed by Dr. Brent Ballweg, who also serves as director of choral activities at OBU. He received his bachelor's degree at OBU and his master's degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned his doctorate at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Ballweg, who also serves as director of OBU's University Chorale, is active as a guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator for various music contests, festivals and workshops across the country.
