Bison Hill Welcomes Parents, Siblings to Family Day

The family members of OBU students are invited to view the Bison Hill campus during Family Day, Saturday, Oct. 9.

“Family Day gives parents the opportunity to visit with their child and see their transition to campus life,” said Bobby Canty, OBU dean of students. “It is a positive experience for parents to return to campus after Move In Day to meet professors and hopefully attend Freshman Follies.”

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Geiger Center. Parents and students can meet with professors at 11 a.m., followed by lunch in the Laura Scales Cafeteria.

“Kids’ College” is a special event designed for students’ younger brothers and sisters ages 6-12. The Kids’ College activities will be from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the Geiger Center.

Residence halls will be open from 1-5 p.m., allowing family members an opportunity to visit in their students’ residence rooms. The OBU Bookstore will be open from Noon-3 p.m.

Campus Activities Board will wrap up Family Day with Freshman Follies at 8 p.m. in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium. The annual variety show features skits and other performances presented by members of the freshmen class.

Family Day Schedule:
10:30 a.m. - Registration
11 a.m.-3 p.m. – Kids’ College
11 a.m. - Students/Parents Meet with Professors
Noon - Lunch
1-5 p.m. - Residence Halls Open House
1 p.m. - Lady Bison Volleyball
8 p.m. - Freshman Follies
